About Me

How would you describe your current role to a HR outsider?

Provide high quality leadership and oversight on the development and delivery of people strategy and initiatives. Leading a full spectrum, end-to-end of people experience and build an engaging and high performance team. Work closely with Senior Leadership Team.

What is a common misconception about the work you do?

That HR is product-driven, such as doing recruitment, training, payroll, etc instead of people experience-driven, i.e. creating an engaging employee experience that equals everything an individual learns, does, sees and feels at each stage of their lifecycle.

How did you get started in your HR career?

Started as an Executive Recruiter at Arthur Andersen Executive Head Hunter, after 2 months working jumped into people strategy consulting. After doing consulting work for 3 years, jumped into industries starting from Telco, FMCG, Insurance, Oil & Gas, Banking & Financial Services and Technology - as HR specialist and generalist.

Describe the most impactful HR project you've personally worked on.

At PT XL Axiata Tbk - Developed Competency Model and implemented Competency Based Learning Program in particular for Managers & Leaders

At Coca-Cola - Organization restructuring, streamlining core functions from 8 to 6 layers, and overall organization grading from 20 to 12 levels. Reducing duplications, unmatched levels vs capability.

At AXA - Drove delivery of learning program through AXA Academy Indonesia. Initiated Talent development program called, AXA-lerate.

At BTPN - Created employer brand #morethanajob attracting potential young talents and digital talents. Leading HR Agile implementation in the Bank.

At Gojek - Drove implementation of OKR up to individual level, impact - visibility of top line OKR to all individual employees creating alignment and engagement of all employees and sense of purpose & ownership.

At Dkatalis - build HR team from the scratch, leading the internation hubs and build a virtual squads other with the Engineering Chiefs.

At GudangAda - Deliver engagement based learning; implementation of OKR up to individuals.

What is one HR/future of work trend or change you're not convinced will work for SEA startups?

None that I can think of. I think no HR practice is right or wrong. What matters are whether those practices relevant/not or impactful/not.

What is one HR/future of work trend or change that you hope to see more of at SEA startups?

Creating Employee Experience

What is your favourite HR resource that you would recommend to this community

McKinsey & Company articles, Josh Bersin, Dave Ulrich

Lastly, where are you based, and where would you take friends visiting your city for the first time?

I am based both in Jakarta and Sydney. In Jakarta, I will take you to eat local food Soto Betawi :). In Sydney, I will take for a breathtaking coastal walk one of the best in the work, Coogee beach to Bondi beach (7km or 10K steps) :)
